“Concert Study” Op. 17 –
For this work, I was inspired by natural changes happening on the transition from winter to spring: the colour of the sky from a gloomy grey to a bright blue, the cold and biting air transforming into a gentle breeze, the appearance of swallows soaring in the sky and creating a wonderful dance. I let all these elements combine into music in a free and descriptive way and, as I wrote, the piece gradually took the shape of a concert study.
