Passeggiata alla Vucciria Op. 82

I wrote this piece after a visit to the Vucciria Market, dazzling with colors and vivid with sounds and scents. The synaesthetic sensation of this walk inspired me a song full of joy and light; the listener will be able to feel transported into this lively and typical world of Sicily. The music I wrote recalls hints of ancient Sicilian melodies, which are often sung by some vendors, alternating with moments of tension capable of expressing a few moments of disagreement between them. At the end of the passage, a quadrille appears. Even at the market it can happen that people hint at some dance steps. Magical atmospheres typical of a world that still exists in Palermo.
